Congrats on the new ride , having a spare car is nice and one that is a gas sipper even better , I bet that little ford could haul 10 bags of pellets

So, figuring I would have the Focus on the road by mid-week, I made an appointment to get the Explorer into the shop for a lookover on Thursday. Planned on dropping it off Wednesday evening and walking back home (3 miles or so). Just got a look at the weather, and was happy to see it will be in 40's (and possibly 50), most of the week. And then I looked again - of course - it is supposed to rain on Wednesday :(. If I get lucky, it will only rain during the day. I usually don't have that kind of luck, so think I will be happy to hug the pellet stoves when I get home.

AuntJoe has a Focus that will occasionally haul 10- 50lb bags of horse feed.

Doesn't sip so well with that extra 500lbs.
Don't know about over GVW but it sure is sluggish out of the starting gate. :)

The wifey and I were considering traveling to civilization yesterday to do some shopping, see the new star wars movie and pick up some LG's. If we took her car I was shocked to find the GVW would allow less than 10 bags also:jaw: We were sitting in line at a car wash and reading the manual. Then we considered the car seats four, so we combined the CDC average weight for two males and two females. We would be over the weight limit by 50 pounds.......dumb! It's not like the seats in the back are cramped, there's more room in the rear seats than the front.

Anyways, we decided to go next weekend and take the truck and trailer.

Hey WW, sorry to hear about the injury. My feet and ankles were so worn out and somewhat painful from years of sports. I'd have a sprained ankle almost the entire basketball season. A friend of mine, who is also my size told me to try those goofy crocs and clogs. He felt his pain went away because of them, it worked for me also. I constantly wear them in my line work in and out of the greenhouse and fields. Shoes and boots have to come off 20 - 30 times a day anyways. I used to worry about turning my ankles wearing the clogs, now the ankles are so strong I don't seem to have a problem when I really turn the ankle. Tough wearing them in the snow though.

Great day here yesterday. It made it into the mid 50's during the afternoon. The Revolution shut off about 9 am, and didn't fire back up until about 8 pm at night. Even then I'm just running on the lowest setting. Idles for a few hours, then shuts off again for awhile. Supposed to get into the 50's again today, although rainy.

I'm working on redoing my basement steps, and was able to paint the material for the risers outside yesterday! Painting outside in January...can't believe it.

Get that little pony trucks front end checked out well.

The least it's going to need is a serious inspection, then a trip over the lign up rack will show any anomalies.

If the front end is seriously out of line, then further inspection on that corner needs to be done to be sure that the A arms, tie rods, ball joints etc are not damaged.

The little EX rigs are not really heavily built, and the front ends are a tad flimsy.

A good munch can do serious damage that does not present itself readily.

The least of the consequences would be that if not checked and lined up the front tire life could be seriously compromised.

    Good luck
    Glad you were not hurt

    Be safe.

Wet cold morning getting started, and the one little stove is not up to the task.
Stoked up the big boy and trying to get it warm in here.

64 F in the house this morning.

I don't miss walking the Great Pyrenees in these conditions, she'd see something interesting and down I'd go. Her nails would dig in and my feet kicked out. :faint:I normally put the ashes in the compost area. When we get this freeze thaw with a tad of snow I sprinkle them on the walkway to the barn.

I replaced the entire front end linkage for about $100.00 when I bought this truck. It's still holding up on our miserable roads. We have a unique mail order business about 40 miles from here. They don't always have everything but I haven't found better prices any where and they have FREE shipping. If you need some new components you could check here.
