Wow, that was big mess there, glad the bridge is not damaged too badly, it can be fixed so, not all bad, you get some firewood and get to play with the saws
Cleaned up the trunk some more this morning. Cool temps made for perfect cutting. Did as much with the 170 as I could. Have to work on the 450 chains before I tackle the trunk. Not making any speed records but it's going in the right direction
coming along ,watch yourself on the hill with snow ,it much easier to see the bridge now ,the repairs dont look to bad ,the roping even made it.
Looking good Schlot. Be careful to cut a lot of the trunk before you tackle that branch that is holding it up by resting on the bridge. My guess is the trunk still weighs enough to cause major damage if it falls onto the bridge decking.
Good point. Was going to go back on the main trunk as far as I could. Then one of council members was going to bring his skid loader and help me.
The snow melted enough today so that I could get at the trailer and unload it. Now it's ready when I head out to cut the rest of the trunk. Here is what I've brought back so far. At the base it's 19' long, about 4' average, all cut to 16" - 17" long.
Glad you had a good weekend for cutting but it doesn't sound too good for next week. Nice bridge, hope the repairs go well.
Had a little time to work on the tree this morning before I had to do my weekend list. Got the tree off the bridge and cleaned up one pile of limbs. Not enough time to get it all done but a little is better than none right? Brought a small truck load home in exchange for my sweat.
Btu's in the truck is better than wasting on the ground Nice When do you think you'll finish up schlot, barring any weather issues?
Not sure...Church then I've got to go in to work tomorrow. Maybe next weekend? Of course if you were to come over and help it would go faster.
Eh, only about 1,100 miles, maybe 16-17 hours, no potty break.... Let's plan for the 1st?....... The 1st chance I get
