I have the p68, no extension. I did have an extension on the stove I had before I got this Harman. The Harman extension puts the height you have to lift 40 lbs. of pellets too high up for either my wife or me. I seldom have to feed my stove more than once a day so the extension would only be convenient if I were planning to be away and didn't have some other heat. Not all stove extensions are the same, but the one for the Harman p68 is very high to lift that much.

I can just imagine the inconveniences this is going to bring forth into our lives. It just couldn't be wider instead :picard:

you can always remove it, keep it or sell it. Normally, an extension is just four sides that you use the stove's existing lid top with. Just a few screws.

I load my insert with a square bucket that held timberlocks. It holds 10 lbs of pellets. I fill it in the garage with a coffee plastic jug for the first half of the bag then dump the rest. No mess in the house or hoisting 40 lb bags. 2 bags if the weather is real cold per day.

savemoney has the best tips and tricks!! Two of my favorites are spraying pam on a childrens sled to drag pellet bags across snow/mud/whatever, and the other, getting the bag up on a chair, cut the corner off, and let what one can lift fall into a pail:)

Ivanhoe, keep in mind the P-68 will hold just under 2 bags of pellets. Only in the coldest weather do I have to fill my P-61 more than once a day.

I was thinking of removing it in the beginning and use it only when I really, really need it.

I went to my local Walmart today to pick up 5 more bags of pellets. Much to my horror there weren't any MWP's anywhere in sight. SOLD OUT. I got talking to a clerk and he told me they weren't getting any more in. All they had in stock was Nature's Own/Heat/Choice whichever one is made by Pennington for $5.68/bag. I asked him whey they were so much more money than the MWP's. It seems corporate makes them sell the Penningtons and corporate sets the price. The MWP's were brought in by local management and they set the price. Needless to say they sold a lot more MWP. All this got me to thinking. The BB's, at least up here, are slowly getting rid of their pellets. If we get into March just as they are running out, I can see them not reordering and possible creating somewhat of a shortage late in the season.

I got to thinking too , our BB's are dumping pellets here , which makes me think that they will be looking at next year and may not bring in as much product possibly causing shortages for next season . We never know how the winter is going to be .

I just may be able to reload my stash for next year this winter at $ 4.00 /bag with some pretty good stuff  going to cover my azz . Be interesting to see what the Spring buy Deals will be:whistle:

I'll be reloaded before fall hits next year. Still sitting on 5+ tons right now.
