I burned 2 tons couple seasons back when HD sold them for 229.00.. now 269.00 very hot hardwoods but too much ash for the price around here now.
The hardwoods are still at a premium around here, co-workers are burning Cubex, or Barefoot, this season and pooled their order / got a decent volume discount back in August. Will be interesting to see what happens in the next few weeks w/ sales and pricing in this area. Possibly nothing - weather is supposed to start turning colder starting next week. I don't think any dealer is in any 'great rush' to sell off inventory at a discount (or loss) at the moment, in any case. We've been running the Olympus DF's I picked up back in September, they are the 'real deal', tons of heat, 15-20 F higher output vs. any other pellet tried at a given feed rate, almost zero (0) ash - the Francesca could run for days on these pellets without shutting down, the burnpot stays -that- clean. Truly amazing pellets. Still 'on-the-fence' about which pellets to pickup next trip to McManus, LaCretes or Olympus - but for the moment, we still have a bunch of Granules LG and CF Pacific to start burning through again.. I'm sure the Boss will 'make up my mind' for me soon. Best wishes w/ that stove Skeeter, hope your install goes smooth!
Lacretes are a good clean sprucewood.... have burned Blazer firs.. very clean... would luv to get some Olympus firs...
Really liked the LaCretes also, they burn real clean and hot w/ minimal ash, another -excellent- pellet. It's another pellet that can burn for days in the Francesca stove here w/o shutting down to clean. Haven't had the opportunity to try Blazers yet, nowhere to be found in our immediate area.
"I forgot to pretend I watered my fake flowers and they died" Watered mine and they died anyway. I think I heard a gurgle noise as they slumped
