Much less than they called for down here. can't tell exactly how much is on the ground but less than a foot. Still lightly snowing but only 3-5 additional called for. Probably means someone else is getting hammered in our place. Stay warm everyone.
I like a good storm every now and then, but this one looks like it will be shutting down my wood production for quite a while. 21 degrees here now and current call is for 18 inches. Time to enjoy burning for a while!
That doesn't even begin to describe it. I made the first run through my plow route overnight. The last stop is about 20 minutes from home. Took my 1.5hrs to get here. By 8:00 it was truly White Out conditions. I couldn't see the front end of my truck. I need a nap.
Upgraded the totals to 22"-30" and posted a blizzard warning. Drifting two feet on the roof, will need to do some roof clearing soon.
At 5:00 we had 28.6" and it was still coming down. Here's 2 of the dogs on the side of the deck that was shoveled. The pile behind them is about 5' high. I know it's hard to see but here is my step-son coming back in after feeding the horses in a wind driven snow around 5:00. I'm inside where it's nice and warm taking the picture through the window. If you look real close you can just make out the head of a dog in the lower left hand corner. And here is the drifts piling up against the side of the house, from the inside of course. That's about 5.5' of snow.
Wow!! you guys are getting slammed big time, I'm looking at an inch and a half of snow on the ground and, only a little bit forecast to come down around here in the future, temperatures 20 to 40 degrees . Seriously though, even though us wood burners are more equipped to deal with it, I hope you all be safe and don't lose electric power. Don't worry be happy plow the snow out, when it gets all done, Here's hoping nobody's roof collapses from the weight, can't imagine what that would be like .
Not too bad here must of got about a foot here, expected alot more. Further south of me they got 2 feet . It sucks that 5 people caught heart attacks while shoveling. .I hope everyone is safe FHC Family
Got almost 2 feet here in the Shenandoah Valley. Snow has stopped, sky is blue, sun is out, and no wind to be felt. Did most of my shoveling yesterday so today I can bring in wood and watch football!
