I will be super impressed when you get that sheet rocked (or whatever covering your planning). I can't imagine how that is done.
Tonight I will be working on getting everything matched up so the drywall will sit even-- and if thats goes quick we will be drywalling too.
oh are you ever going to have fun mudding that one! Glad it is you having to do it. There are a lot of good vids on youtube showing how to deal with an archway if you are interested.
Some corner bead with cuts to make the curve will work fine on the arch. This stuff right here....http://www.homedepot.com/p/Strait-F...ead-in-a-Roll-SO-100S-SO-100S/202085009....is da' bomb for inside corners. Seriously. Used it at my SisIL's. Just an excellent product, though a little pricey.
I think you and the wife will be very pleased with the outcome. Change is good. Having your own work to look at is often very rewarding.
This is the stuff I'm going to be using. http://www.menards.com/main/buildin...450729907-c-13053.htm?tid=3261980107136668888
Should do fine with that. Good progress, Griz. You can cover a multitude of stuff with mud and a decent sanding block.
i did an arch once. mudding it was a nightmare but the end result was it looked really great. It replaced a hollow core doorway between the kitchen and dining room. totally worth it.
