Just after New Year I think I passed a kidney stone which wasn't a lot of fun but no big deal.
The day after I drove 600 miles with number 2 son for a pivot job the next day. I woke up in the morning with a little pain but was alarmed to see one of the crown jewels had blown up to the size of an orange :bug:.
Not wanting to be caught in a hospital in the middle of nowhere we just dropped our stuff and headed home to the docs.
After scans the next day it was pronounced to be just an infection which antibiotics would clean up. Next day unbearable pain so off to the local hospital for 3 days of morphine and intravenous antibiotics. All good now. been out for 5 days so just enough time to through up 8 pivot spans for the Chinese engineer to finish off later in the week.
Here is a photo ....... of the pivot that is:rofl:

Glad to hear you are doing better.

Dropping stones is noooooooo fun for sure.

I lost a kidney to cancer back in April of 2013.

That was actually a pretty easy go.

In the hospital on the 1st and out on the 3rd

    Food sucked.

Hospitals are not a great place to hang out for sure.

Be safe, get all better soon.

+1 on hospitals not being a great place to hang out. I worked in one for many many years. Never again.

Glad your doing better. Oranges and nads..... Never mind. Sounds like as much fun as skate boarding on gravel roads. Painful at best.

Hospitals are a great place to catch all manner of crap you don't want.

Even after a complete kidney removal I was not gonna stay past 2 days there.

dammed staff and other crud lurking there.

Ouch, Ouch and Ouch. I've seen those infections more times than I care to remember. Everyone of them was painful++++++. Good thing you got treated before more damage was done. Glad to have you back and up and about.

    That sounds like fun!
Just back from finishing the install of the 2 pivots. Made the mistake of offering the farmer my time for free to "oversee and assist" his team for the build. Cheap mongrel handed over one worker some of the time so it took forever.
Won't be making that mistake again.....

Below is a view from the shack were staying in on the job.
Also a pic of my van where I slid it into a post and opened up the side like a can opener trying to get to the dumb kid who had the pump pressure dangerously high. THere is a gash 1/2" wide the full length of the duct tape.
Thank heavens for insurance as it wont be cheap to fix.

I used to see big holes in vans, box trucks, and semi trailers all the time when I was in the air freight and shipping business years ago. Tow motors play hell on stuff when you have a kid or someone who doesn't care in the seat. They usually just cut a piece of sheet metal and pop riveted on with some silicone or sealant. Cheap and quick fix but not very pretty.

The pics are cool! Sorry you used a post like a can opener.....

Looking at it with a cool head I reckon I can bog it from the back and stick on a new logo and it will be close to new.
Might save the insurance for the decent bingle which is probably just around the corner.:bug:
