Had off work today for MLK so decided to go goose hunting with some friends. Got a late start at like 7:30 but it only took 2 hours to get our 10 bird limit. They just hovered in the strong wind making for easy shooting.

It's a gorgeous 300 acre farm or so right on the Patuxent River with creeks and what not surrounding it. We hunted a field edge today though.

Nice! How do you like to cook them?

My favorite way is in a crock pot with Jim beam, apple juice and onion some Worcester and other spices. Let it go for 6 hour or so until shreddable then shred and add your favorite BBQ sauce! Put on a roll and devour.
That or cut into pieces and marinade then make poppers. Split a jalepeno add a piece of goose and cheese then wrap in bacon and cook.

There were a LOT of geese coming down along the river last weekend. Could have had your limit in a minute if you were set up in the right place.

Up here the WI limit is 2 and a limit on what you have in the freezer as well . Then we here about these kinds of things and it does kinda get under ones skin. In town and on the Golf course we call them flying carp ( there are some other names not printable here).
