I spent some time trading about a half cord of my seasoned wood with my neighbor who is having a stove installed in a few weeks. I want to get him started off right with truly seasoned wood.

After that I went to my other neighbors and helped him build his rustic hall storage bench out of rough-sawn lumber. His shop is not heated, so it was about 30 degrees out there. I went to get a heavier jacket and warm hat. I brought back two hot pub meat pies and he poured a few glasses of hard cider. I am back now and started the stove to warm back up.

It's so cold out. The new hardware I've got holding my body together doesn't like the cold temps.

I wish. I'd be considered high maintenance then though.

I've got one of those Milwaukee heated jackets. It's nice but it takes awhile to penetrate my back cast with the heat

Well, boss hasn't called so I guess I'm still on for tomorrow's cold weather work day.
I know there are many others on this site that will have it much worse than I and I hope they don't have a miserable day.

I hope all you retired guys get enough rest for tomorrow's postings and firing up of your stoves!!:D

I've got to clean my tool box and get my clothes ready yet tonight.

Home! Ahhhhhhh. Always good. Helped out my brother on another job. Kids did an awesome job of helping and taking care of Mom while I was gone. Luckily their big sister came home for a long weekend and helped them out too!!!!
We made some good progress on the job and had fun working with each other  and eating too much food!:picard::doh:

I've got to get up for work ~2am. The stove will be re-loaded and cooking while GF and sister sit around and drink coffee.

salary folks enjoy your MLK holiday.

6 day a week salary? - unless gainfully rewarding I'd question authority on that.
and yes not everyone recognizes MLK day, I never knew Lee day was thing until my time in VA with racist coworkers joked about it

No, I put in a bunch of unpaid overtime because I'm salaried. Most private sector jobs around here don't take MLK off, just state and federal workers get it off.

No MLK day off here and I am on salary... private sector picks their days off and this isn't one of them for me.

Anyone know what this white crap is falling from the sky? Got 2" right now, didn't even see it forecast.

I have one too, yep passed down. Mine is pretty small. Why is it round rather than flat like framing hammers? Purpose/intended use for it?
