A coworker of mine had the family farm logged out and some fence rows cleaned up. It's just an unbelievable amount of wood. He's selling as much as he can but for helping him I can take as much as I want. So far I have one wagon load and I filled up the truck today after a few hours of cutting. Now it's just a matter of unloading the trailer and heading back for more loads. The pictures don't do justice for how steep and muddy it is or the total area. Along every row of trees there are tops and entire trees to cut up..
I can see your tounge jack must be fellin' the weight! Thats a sweet hook up for sure. Someday I will get lucky and be able to post something like this like some of you guus here!!
Well I just finished my least favorite part of the entire process which is unloading rounds. I normally just split and stack off the trailer or toss it in to a pile but this time I stacked and covered. I need the trailer again and it might be April before I split so it seemed like the way to go..
Great score, Drvn4wood! Looks like some EAB Ash kill. Yes, get it home and worry about splitting later. mud should freeze up next few days.
Yep that's what it is. The main logs were good so we have the tops. Also have some big ones that were dropped before they destroyed the fence. Lot of locust too but they're keeping that for posts..
Why? It's a truck, right?! Just kidding, Drvn...... If I owned a truck like that, I'd want to keep it clean too
It pains me man.. It's normally spotless.. I use it and put on a lot of miles but I'm hurting right now..
Great score. Lots of work but it will pay off in the end. My least favorite part of woodin is unloading the truck and trailer too.
Hey at least that looks like plain everyday mud, if you want a real nasty mess get into some red clay I still have stains on the driveway from back in the fall just can't get rid of that stuff.
