I've made some comments about one of our neighbor's and how he tends to put off his wood cutting. However, his wife came over a couple days ago and in our conversation she told us he had pulled 3 ribs. Ouch! So, I had just plowed the snow from their driveway that day and noticed they have very little wood left. Hum. Doesn't sound like he'll be cutting much for a while. They do have 2 young boys but too young to be running saws. So, the ornery one and I took the trailer back to one of our wood piles. This one: We filled the trailer with as much as we could get on it and took it to them. Rather than piling it onto their almost depleted pile, we stacked it inside their garage. This way they won't have to tread through the snow to get wood and won't have to be burning green wood. Such a shame to not be 3 years ahead on the wood piles. btw, that picture was taken in 2012 and it is what we are burning from this year. There will be almost enough left yet from this stack to get us through next winter. But, we have more too! It is nice to be 3 years ahead!
That was a very kind and generous gesture sir, but we would expect nothing less of you and yours. I trust and pray your neighbors are truly humbled and grateful by your extension of good will. This place never ceases to amaze me with its high proportion of just damm good people.
You done good ! That's just 1 of the things I like about FHC, it's full of like minded people (sometimes scary) that still know how to do the right things.......
you know the good feeling he has about staying warm while being hurt will help warm you inside also. good job, you are a good guy.
What happened there, Back Sav? Stack explosion? I've heard of rare cases where a stack will explode...
Although this is the way the world should work, neighbour looking out for neighbour in times of need, it's another thing to put it into practise. In my opinion your time is one of the most precious gifts you can give anyone, I hope your neighbour appreciates the time and effort you have just given him and returns the favour or helps someone else in need when able t If I wasn't thousands of miles away I'd love to come to your get together and shake you by the hand sir.
Yes, Backwoods Savage, you did the right thing. You and your wife are truly a Great Neighbors... God Bless...
