Perhaps it is a 201. I remember watching a Woodstock video where the owner talked about lifting the lid to put in a foil wrapped potato! BTW, what is the best location to place the potato in the 205?

Just reach in the box between loads and brush all sides of the screen with a wire brush, or just tapping the screen with a screwdriver should knock most of the ash off.

Very possible that the screen is blocked significantly and that is going to be a problem for a maximized efficient burn, but I will tell you that I think the cat will last much longer than 4 years but you need to do the cleaning thing to get the normal residue off the precious metal in the cat. After 2 years/seasons, I just did the 50/50 vinegar/distilled water cleaning the easy way with a spray mister (see link) and it made a huge difference in the stoves ability to engage quickly and also it increased the top normal cruise heat by 100'F STT.

It's easy to do, I guess I should have taken pics when I did it, but didn't. I would strongly suggest doing before you buy a new cat. If you need help let me know and I'll drive over and give you a hand with it.. being retired has it's benefits and you can't be too far away.

Thank you for the offer Oldhippie that's very nice of you my friend! I can handle it, but it will have to wait for a bit of a warm up. It's going to be in the 40s tomorrow but I won't be home to tackle it so I will wait for another opportunity. I did clean the screen today but it was mostly fly ash so it wasn't as plugged as I thought, but every little bit helps. Thanks again for the offer and the link, I really appreciate that. Maybe sometime we can grab a beer when I'm a little healthier.
