Not sure if everyone knows the Canadian dollar is in the toilet right now. At around .70 for every one of our dollars it might be worth it for anyone looking to make a new saw purchase to find a source in Canada. Especially if you live within easy driving distance.
I've been waiting for you guys to start . God knows we've been doing it for years when the dollar was at or close to par There is also a Canadian version of CL for those close to the border Kijiji: Free Classifieds in Canada. Just out of curiosity, what does a new MS441 C-M cost south of the border? Our MSRP is around $1120 CAD, add 13% tax here in Ontario and it's a $1265 saw out the door. At current exchange rates, that around $880 USD
When you could get them they were just shy of 1k around here. As I understand it we can apply for a refund on the Canadian taxes as well.
I recall a couple years ago the lack of liquid cooled 2 up snowmobiles in the US. Canadians were buying them all. It's probably the opposite now. Give me your saws, at pennies on the dollar. Lol
The dollar is right where our "gubment" wants it, "working to keep our citizens as poor as possible".
Just bought a 261 for 599 Canadian that's only 420 USD. Come on up. Thanks for the great forum by the way fellas. Helped me make my choice when shopping around.
That's a deal but you've got to watch for the specials. They had MS 170s on for $200 CAD for a while this summer. You can look up the CAD prices here, but those were set August 1st and the hammer could drop anytime now that Ukrainian Christmas and New Years are over. They don't list chains here, so find them on the American site. Chain saws and pole pruners | STIHL (Canada)
