I got an unofficial report from an acquaintance in the Coast Guard of an 83 mph wind gust recorded about a mile from my house. Checking out the damage with the hounds this morning.
Wow that wind wasn't a joke. A neighbor of mine had to work trucks damaged from a huge limb that came down. I'm glad no one got hurt. It's gonna be firewood every where from that wind storm...
Hope nothing was damaged at your place. We had some nasty gusts and I heard 2 trees or branches come down overnight, but won't know where until the weekend when there's light and I'm home. Good luck!
You got it worse than we did! Lots of clean up there, esp. those leaning. Nothing is safe until they are all down. Looks like you had a couple of real close encounters. Any damage to the pop up's roof? Tonight, it all gets buried in snow.
Luckily just one small dent in the roof of the pop up. I think maybe when when the whole root ball comes up like that they don't come down as hard? Yes, it'll all be turned into firewood.
Glad it was only property and not y'all! Tho it's not fun to see any part of a tree laying on your ride, or your recreation, I'm happy it wasn't worser for you.
Glad to hear no real damage. What kind of conifers do you have there? White pine and spruce? Looks like a lot of them. You could almost fool me into thinking you were out west.

The bears will reap the benefit, the way those trees fell and the root balls came up exposes the sand and glacial till below for easy digging. Out there in the woods that means it's relatively easy and plentiful for next years den sites.
