Nice link, didn't know this existed! I took a "Wilderness First Responder" certification course at SOLO in New Hampshire years back. We did some training in the White Mountains area. I remember them telling us that the highest winds ever recorded on earth was on Mt. Washington, 231 mph!!! This area of the US can get some pretty strong ones! UPDATE: I just looked this up to double check what I said and found this info here: Mount Washington Observatory | World Record Wind | Mount Washington Observatory "For nearly sixty-two years, Mount Washington, New Hampshire held the world record for the fastest wind gust ever recorded on the surface of the Earth: 231 miles per hour, recorded April 12, 1934 by Mount Washington Observatory staff. The Mt. Washington Auto Road Stage Office, where the Observatory was first established, with an anemometer mounted on the roof and thermometer housing mounted on the northern exterior wall. The Mount Washington record was toppled in 1996 when an unmanned instrument station in Barrow Island, Australia recorded a new record of 253 miles per hour during Typhoon Olivia. Though the Observatory record fell, it’s a very human story, and it still stands as the highest surface wind speed ever observed by man."
Looks like we may get some of that wind too Zap. Maybe some snow. Right now anywhere from 2-5" forecast but could be more or less when the exact track of the storm is determined.
Put the snow blade on this morning and moved some of the old snow banks back a bit where I could, just in case. Figured if I put the blade on and got all ready maybe we won't get the snow. NOAA calling for 4". accuweather calling for 4-8"
