I'm burning through bag #2 right now, another going in soon. These burn faster than any of the other pellets I've tried (all of them hardwood or hardwood/softwood blend). They produce a totally different type of ash also...real fluffy. Good heat though, responsive when cranking up the auger. They light fast too. At $4 a bag I have no complaints.
Some of the bags, the pellets are a red color and leave almost no ash in the pot while other bags the pellets are salt and pepper color and leave little "fingers"of ash in the corners of the pot. Similar to the ash from granules LG. Either way it's pretty light and fluffy. They produce a tall bright flame and respectable heat. Not bad so far, I would buy these again for $4/bag.
we don't have a dock, and out lifts are 10,000 lb lifts, so cant really get into the box with them. All too often the truck driver has a back issue, his lumbago is bothering him, hip and joint issues, lack of ambition issues...you get the picture.....
I have seen pellets getting delivered to TSC in tractor trailers. They back up to the dock and the forklift drives in. I have also seen them park the truck and move what I would describe as a huge portable dock up to the back of the trailer. I've been meaning to ask for some time, how common is that kind of delivery and unloading method? Normally you see pellets delivered on 22t/24t flatbeds, so it was weird to see them getting delivered in a traditional tractor trailer.
I don't have a dock either. I use portable ramps and Cascade double forks on the forklifts. Cut's loading time in half.
I found a couple bags with puffies in them. Not enough to not use them, but definite signs of moisture getting in the bags. Stove burned them fine, just vacuumed the hopper out after the two bags were gone to catch what broke down.
I'd bet it cuts loading time by more than half. With the forklift in the center, it eliminates all the jockeying around inside the van. Cool setup, and i'm assuming independent sideshift.
I've not seen any damaged pellets, but there are quite a bit of fines in the bag, more than the other bags I was burning. As I'm still new to this, I dumped everything in, we'll see how the stove reacts. I've heard you can't kill a Harman? We'll see. Lost power this morning for 5 hours, looked down the street to see three firetrucks. There was a utility pole in the backyard 6 houses away...the ones soaked in creosote? Up in flames. Smoke billowing skyward. House went down to 50 degrees...got the Harman cranked high now, first real tasked burn. Not too cold outside right now though, 40 degrees.
Yes, they can. They are called single-doubles. They can close to just 2 forks to move a single pallet or open to move 2 pallets. Side-shift is independent, so you need 4 valves in your forklift.
No problem bobdog...I realize there isn't much to do out there in the middle of PA. But I have reported this stalking habit of yours to the proper authorities. Expect the black helicopters soon. Or maybe.....
Been a while since I've seen that one, damm you gave me yet another reason to continue my addictive liking behavior.
