Thanks Chopy , for passing that info along about the deployment. Very classy of you for hooking him up with some wood upon his return. I am not surprised because everyone here would probably do the same. I thank you for doing the right thing.
NH mountain man, I do believe that most members here would do the same and that's one of the reasons I stay here on this forum. As for the 109th Air Lift Wing I have been doing business with them for over forty years the base is NY Air National Guard and active duty Air Force specializing in Medical Evacuation but also does weather related studies in the south pole. One of the neatest things I ever saw was the morning that every 1 to 2 minutes a C-130 took off over my wood splitting area at least 25 planes some NYANG and others USAF. A few days later we invaded Iraq and I saw it live on CNN. Say what you want about our country but things go on that people would never even think about for our safety. I Bid contracts for breakfast, lunch and dinners at the base they (USAF) taped every solder joint on my water supply to my ice machine and if the special red tape is ever broke I have a number to call. Never even thought about someone putting poison in my Ice machine water feed knowing I do so much business with the base thus poisoning over 500 people.
Forgot the rules, you have to excuse me as I am supposed to be working. That's the feed to the water filter to the ice machine pictured.
Someone gave me some eucalyptus rounds recently. Even with a 10kg sledge hammer and wedge it is nigh on impossible to split. Shame as it's great firewood when seasoned..
Great picture, he's a fine looking little fellow! New Zealand & Antartica, I appreciate it's not a holiday but they are two amazing places to visit
