Getting ready to face the hordes this morning. Everyone will be wanting their locker combination and a schedule as two weeks is a loooooong time to remember those things. Still clear and cold here. I am really enjoying how much sunshine we have been getting as opposed to the grey skies and rain we normally get.

I notice it is reasonably still light out at 4:30 pm. I like it.

At 4:30, it's pretty dark here. That's even with our decent amount of snow brightening things up.

The first time I traveled to MA in winter I was like WTF. Why is it dark at 4:15?

Central time is about 8 miles west of here.

    That explains it.

I leave work at 4:30 and it's pretty dark from November until February or March. That sure makes doing anything outside after work tough.

A lot of pizzy folks around here when the clock turns back in the fall. It is worse if you live on the north side of a hill, the sun drops real early.

But remember, this is the time it is supposed to be all year! The time we switch to for the summer is the unreal time.....

Morning all............Wow no one saying much here since last night!!! Sounds like everyone has the post holiday burn-out on the go. Caffein going in right now. About 36 degrees warmer here this a.m. as opposed to yesterday morning. Need to pump in a little breakfast then getting motivated to do a RnR on the dish washer in the kitchen.......and no that doesn't mean I'm changing wives. Everyone have a good safe day.

Caffeine doesn't seem to be doing it this morning. I think I needed to sleep another hour, but I had to get up and load the boiler and feed the dogs anyway so got up at 5:30 and started doing things around the house. Been going steady for two hours now. LOL Now wife and kids are outside waiting on bus and I'm going to take a sit down break for a half hour. Then it will be time to go out and get some work done.

It's cold. Brakes acting up again on the Subaru and no garage, so I am going to call the mechanic and swallow my pride. I really do not enjoy the work, and the guy needs to make a living too (or so I rationalize.)

Burning some 3 yr (?) white and red oak, it is my left over stash from last year that didn't get burned. It throws some heat, the only problem is top down fires take forever with this wood/ stove so I am a bottom lighter.

I really need a big boy stove, the insert just does not get the burn times we need to be as toasty as we could be.
