There has been 3 dead smallish trees in our back yard that I have been wanting to cut down, so today I did it! These are the first trees I have ever cut down, they were each about 15 or so feet tall. As you can see from the pictures I need to work on my technique but this was great practice and my newly rebuilt stihl 029 super with a 49mm engine in it ran great! :) [IMG][IMG][IMG]

This tree was a little tricky because I had two power lines that I had to drop it between, hence the rope.

Very nice work! Now paint 3 small trees on your saw and take 3 beers from petty cash! :dex:

You did well, keep up the good work. It won't be long before your felling 50 to 100 foot tall trees with ease.

BTU's on the ground, and no damage. I'd call that a good day.

Good job, Allen. That saw looks hungry... for something bigger perhaps.

Very well done for your first time. As long as no one got hurt, no property damage, I gotta say it was a good day. Nice work

Good job! Nice to get your feet wet on the smaller stuff, helps create the drive to do the bigger trees. Be a keen student and you'll be safe. Falling trees is a great adrenaline rush but needs to be done safe. Somewhere on youtube there are some great falling videos from BC that you can study.

Looking good to me. The trees fell where you wanted them, nobody hurt, no damage and the stumps actually don't look all that bad. I think most of us have done worse at least once.

You have to start somewhere and you picked the right place. Soon you'll be tackling more and more. Congratulations on a good start.
