Why? You'd be surprised at what some of those can do. Especially in the slop that 2 stagers really don't like. If you have the right driveway for them, I would take one over a two-stage up to about 6" of snow anyday. Mind you, we aren't talking about the old Sears/MTD POS models they sold 5,10-15 years ago. And all the new ones are imitating Toro's paddle design for good reason. I have an electric that I love for decks, walks, patios, etc.

They are kind of like chainsaws in that you always want one that fits the job! Toro has re-introduced a single stage self-propelled that looks and drives like a compact two-stage machine. Interesting as it could be the perfect unit for those that live in areas that typically measure snowfall in inches rather than yards, but want a small, compact machine that is capable of clearing over gravel and grass and a good bit faster than a two-stage.

Woke up to Freezing temps and clear skies. Looks like this is going to happen for the rest of the week. yesterday I got afghans and quilts dry on the outside line. Dog blankets never smelt so good. Going for a walk this morning and then see what mischief I can get into. We hooked up the Satellite TV for Christmas (present to each other) so we have been enjoying all the college football games that have been on. Are there usually this many on at this time of year?

My best buddy apparently got hurt pretty badly on... wait for it... ice, at his house yesterday. Possible cracked ribs. He was hurting when I just talked with him. Reminded him we could be at their house in a couple hours if he needed us. He won't call, I'll bet. We may go down in a few days anyway. Like so many others who are the sole bread winners, he didn't need this. He's already doing the math. Not a very good way to start the winter season... :headbang:

Well Alternator is done and the truck has life.... I needed a third hand with the tensioner.... So I stepped back took a couple of puffs on the cigar, drank a bit of coffee. Then it came to me... A ratchet strap.... BAM! Worked like a charm...

No, it was the other end of the island - about 290 miles away. Our daughters felt it though as well as Campinspecter's sister.
