Can't quite call myself a hoarder...just installed a stove recently, have gone through maybe 5 bags in the past month. Don't think I have more than 30 bags at the house now. Using the stove to take the edge off of the first floor (shall I say rather I'll be trying to take the edge off of the cold on the first floor). Thanks for the welcome. Are all you guys "Like" button happy? I'm hoping to have the least amount percentage-wise. I'll try to keep the posts a bit pithy.
First year bought 2 tons when I bought the P61a - got free delivery that way, then when I got down to 20 bags started getting them 10-15 bags at a time as needed to keep it at 20-30 bags. Of course I only had Cellar Dweller then. Second year I pre-paid for 3 tons, when I had 20 bags left from the previous year, and when I got down to a ton, started bringing in 15-20 bags at a time, several times a week so I could keep 1-1.5 tons on hand. Oh yeah, and the second year is when I got the main floor stove. This year started with over a ton from last year, had 4 tons delivered early fall, and am still picking up 6-10 bags on a regular basis. Next year, who knows? But if there are some good sales on pellets come spring, I might just fill the whole dang garage while keeping 2-3 tons in the basement.
Menard's has pellets on sale for $200/ton right now. Tempting but I think I have enough btu to get through the winter. Storage is tight enough I'd rather have the space than save $20/ton.
The likes baffled me at fist too.... you'll get used to it, I turned the notifications off for likes so I don't see them in the alerts, I had so many likes I was missing content I wanted to read
Used to have that storage problem, then the Patriot died and I had to make an emergency buy of a vehicle. Only thing in my area (within walking distance) and in my price range was an old Explorer. It doesn't fit in the garage, so now have all kinds of storage for pellets.
I think of the "likes" as being folks who in the room with you while you participate in the conversation. I like to think that I am not just talking to the walls. So for me, the more likes, the livelier the conversation.
Without them, Its like talking to yourself. Which, By the way I do often! It must be how the wife feels when she's asking me a question while I'm interested in the telly.
I was at Menards this morning and was hoping to find some worthwhile pellets, but they didn't have anything worth snatching up, just the 'usual' for the area.
Time to petition the site administrator for that. Who's with me? In real life nobody likes me. I find this place scary due to that...
