Here are pictures of wood I brought in today. We started getting snow today and "supposed" to have a decent snowfall tonight going into tomorrow so figured I'd get the wood in while it was mostly snow free. Also brought in some of the "good" stuff for the couple days of minus temps we're expecting the beginning part of the upcoming week. Just about all ash, this is about a 1/3 cord. I usually don't separate out the same wood types, for the upcoming weather the wood on the right side of the divider is mostly square, rectangular or rounds that are my larger pieces. I'll be pulling mostly from this side during the upcoming cold spell. This rack is a 4' rack that I use for my "good" wood. This is a rack of Hickory, Black Locust and some smaller Ironwood chunks that I use for filler pieces.
So, you're good for the rest of the winter then, eh? It's just too easy doing alien tech stuff jokes. Pro comedians tell the same jokes over and over too.

Unload on her Rdust. Between the ice storm (without power for 2 days) this last cold snap, we've been burning our better wood, today we'll start bring in some Cherry.

Ive been burning mulberry for the colder nights, but that stuff is really slow to start. So Im mixing it with ash and that seems to be getting me really good results. Just reloaded this morning after a load of ash and mulberry. Had about 11 hour burn on the princess and still had good stove temps and a big pile of coals and a few splits still intact.
Most of that stuff was c/s/s in 2009, some of it's from 2010. I think that is the last of my 2009 wood. I usually have everything separated by scrounge so most of it is not stacked together. Recently I've been stacking similar type woods together based on how long they take to season. 1/3 cord is usually 2 weeks plus a day or two more when it's like this. I usually refill every 2 weeks if I need to or not. Woke up this morning and the power is already out and the major part of the expected storm is yet to hit. We have maybe 6 or 7 inches already and may see as much as 15. I'm thinking they can keep it! Just got back from breakfast with the family, loaded the stove and got the generator fired up. All is good! Stay warm!

I wish we had an attached garage HECK anything attached for firewood other than an open porch. Very nice Rdust it looks so organized!
Sure hope that power outage is short lived. Surely do not need that now. Looks like the storm is finally beginning to break up on the west and NW side. We're still getting some but not much.
Thankfully they got us back up and going this afternoon! You have to give it to these power company workers, usually when the power goes out the conditions are far from good. It drags them away from their family at all hours to help our families. A pretty thankless job but I sure appreciate and thank them!
I'm just about through the current batch of honey locust and I'm starting into the black locust......brought in several armloads this evening. I have around 3 cord of that ready to go, with red maple, red oak, ash and Norway in there as well.......the worst cold in a decade is setting up stage as we speak........
