Defiantly not hype! My neighbor refuses to burn anything but soaking wet slab wood and his house is freezin... He always asks why is your house so warm? Then I tell him and he says that's crazy! I just say interesting then   Inside. Logic is illogical to some...

Pete, I have the same issue with some relatives....? They are always upset there house is freezing with a wood stove and mine is warm. I have told them over and over to get at least two years ahead and have explained why you need to do this and how much better their stove will run but yet they don't do it and act like I am crazy for my wood stacks that I have around the property. O well I am warm and happy

You know what kills me cert! Why do you dry kindling? So it will light fast and burn hot so logic dictates you should dry your wood and so the same...

I still laugh that morning a few days ago when a friend called to complain about waking up to -7 degrees. I told him I woke up to 76 degrees and it was climbing too. He called me a smart ???

I love it when we can get up after a 12 hour or more burn time and still have a boat load of hot coals in the stove and the stove top usually around 300.

Never thought of that argument. Thanks for mentioning that I will have to try to remember that for the next time I am trying to convince someone to get ahead on their wood supply!

    And, that sucked....big time.
Someone took dry wood from the inside of a closed lean-to on the backside of my sis-in-law's garage back in Oct......almost everything she had in there.
Makes ya' wanna' go all medieval on the perp.

Have you tried giving them a few splits of dry stuff to try?
My brother's supplier hurt his back a couple months ago, so he says he's "behind about 7 cords" (actually face cords) because of that.
He doesn't like when I tell him he's not behind because the wood guy hurt his back, rather it's because he didn't already have this years wood at least 2 years ago.
He asked me if they could buy some wood from me. :rofl: :rofl: :rofl:
I told him that would put me in the hole, so.......nope.
Been telling him for several years to get wood at least the year before. He started, then summer came, and well, you know how some people are......a shiny penny got in his way.

Lol...Friend of mine got wood in September and tried to burn it a month or 2 later and said the wood was no good, won'i burn and gives off no heat when they manage to get it going....I told them it was green and they were trying to burn water and that is why I have so much wood in my yard...:)

Good on ya! I'll be there one day. I need to get on the grind and gather some more pine for 14/15. It's stuff that's dead and standing or fallen and off the ground still. But I'm still working on all that locust...
