What a sad story WW. Very fortunate she was not home and wasn't hurt. Hope she's able to get things back to normal asap... if that's even possible.

Glad she was not there when it went down. No telling what low-lifes like that are capable of. Good that Kitty was found. We have a two-tier response in place here for anything like that. If they try it here, and I happen to be home, they will never get a chance to do it again...........It is getting to be a waste of time calling 9-1-1.

Glad she wasn't hurt! Time to pay for a security system for her since she (and that state) are anti bang bang.

Don't give her a choice, just send the install crew.

My wife grew up in a nice part of San Fran. Grandma lived in Chico until she passed a couple years ago. She has family still in Chico. I love visiting Cali, but mostly the waaaay north coast ( Humboldt and Mendocino) as there are bad parts in the central valley.

That's horrible news WW. I hate low life scum.

Politicians rewrite laws so they can break fewer of them and get away with it. Thieves break whatever law they want to.

One SMALL detail I learned today. Turns out she does have a security system in her townhouse. She quit using it so her cat could be loose in the house while she is at work.

Many good systems will have a 'stay' button/setting that will basically cut motion sensors out of the loop, thus allowing the cat to continue running the roost.

No one physically hurt, that is good. I would have a hard time going back in there knowing it has been intruded on so shamelessly. Like the others said, it is good that she found her cat. Give her a few days and see if she decides to make some changes. She has to be willing before you can help.
