ordered this hearth rug from plow and hearth. Pretty expensive but worth the money. 100% wool and very thick, and mama likes it. image.jpg

    Nice, looks familiar. :)

My hearth is up 3 bricks tall, an insert, and wood floor.

My parents had a copper tub just like that at our old house. After they moved up to the family cabin, I know it's just laying around with probably old magazines in it.

I asked them for that specifically for Christmas.

It's an antique, I think it was a butter or some dairy related item.

I actually have one just like that! Haven't ever refinished it yet.

I found it in the river bottom while duck hunting once. Just the top corner of it sticking out of the river bottom mud and debris. I took it home and cleaned it up and it has been on the hearth ever since about 1975. I fill it heaped up and it will last 24 hours, depending on how cold it is.

The copper "kerosene" can on the right, I made myself. The picture doesn't really do my hearth justice though. The color is way off. It is a much warmer looking hearth than the picture shows. But I am not much of a photographer.
