Don't know how old it is but has to be 200 at least. Big oak about 6 ft across. I'd hate to have to deal with this! image.jpeg

Yep that is one for the good Lord to handle. Just hope he decides not to do one of those fancy sky lights in the house back there.

I had a huge live oak of similar size in our yard when we lived in Conway SC. We estimated it to be 380 years old.

About 20 years ago, a guy I worked with said he was having a very large Maple tree cut down in his yard and was I interested in the wood. Well, of course I was! Then I went to take a look at it. It was the size +/- of the oak posted here. I told him I had no way to cut the trunk but if the guy taking it down would cut it into 18" long cookies I'd take it. The guy did so then I had to figure out how to split it! My buddy gave me a hand. We split the cookies into eights with a sledge and wedges. Then we'd both lift one of those eights onto the splitter and begin reducing it to stove size. Each cookie was split between 90 and 100 times to make it stove size! That was the biggest tree I've ever processed and I wouldn't want to do it again!
