As I had posted previously I needed to haul a load down to a fellow I hunt on about 45 minute ride one way. He has a gas right away that crosses the property and they dropped a bunch of trees. So since I had to travel anyway, no sense in coming back empty. Nice load of 80 % white oak and the rest red oak. Black Betty was loaded a bit heavy and fortunately traffic was very light on the ride home. Man I love the smell of that white oak.
Nice score LP! Glad you decided to get it, can't beat white oak and that's the perfect size to handle. Looks like you got a full load too.
Nice load of wood and easy steering effort too. The front wheels look like they are barely touching down.
" Don't mind the mule, Load the wagon " IMO, White oak is second only to shagbark hickory. Prime Time load of there !!!
I had good reason to cut and haul from 45 minutes since I was down there but there is a lot of good wood down.....I"ll have to see it again at muzzle season beginning of Jan. He told another guy he could cut a few weeks ago but so far we can see he sure wouldn't qualify for a FHC sticker. I'm done hauling home until after Christmas but if I have to walk past all that nice oak in Jan. I might need some more counseling from my FHC family.
Aw Locust, 45 min ain't nothing for a load of firewood. I, also, am glad that you decided to grab it.
