There's not many for sure. My brother in law is a mech engineer at a tool and die company and he's said the the other guys are always bringing in their new guns to show off. I'd bet they're allowed to carry in the office. The sad thing is he isn't in the guns at all so it's all wasted on him! At my building there's large "no firearms" stickers on all the entrances, but I've been here 4 years and there's been one shooting and one stabbing on the sidewalk right outside the building in that time (I work in downtown Cincinnati). Nobody from the building was involved, but it still makes you feel unsafe, especially when our "security" is mostly kids fresh out of high school or men in retirement age, and some younger women, and all they carry that I'm aware of is walkie-talkies. I've gotten into a habit of carrying pepper spray on me at work. It's not ideal, but at least it won't get me fired and isn't a felony to have on me if I hit up a happy hour after work.
Sad to think some people have to carry a firearm to feel safe in the woods, I am the only person I have to worry about.
not afraid of people as much as our version of coy dogs (domestic dogs bred with whatever).. they are not afraid of humans at ALL. when they are hungry will try to lure your pets into woods. Reminds me of wolves in Jack London novels.. After it got bad and myself and some friends did population control. Less problems now but I still will shoot them if I can do so in a safe and clean kill manner..
Never been afraid In the woods, but like to have something in case I see a coyote or something along those lines. Makes me feel a little safer when I walk up on three mouthy guys, drinking, riding 4 wheelers, that are tresspassing as well.....kinda evens the odds. Everybody in the world is not as nice as I am. Lol....
Or, as handsome! Now...... if three mouthy gals, drinking, riding 4 wheelers, that are trespassing as well....... And one of 'em is Star Gazer in her usual "lacking" back deck clothing
I've usually got 3 or 4 guns in the pickup and one on me all the time. Never scared or worried about what might happen but, I won't ever be unprepared for whatever comes by! Man or beast
I'd bring a gun with me while cutting, but then I'd end up going looking for chickens or rabbits and end up with no wood! No carrying pistols/revolvers allowed (except under very few permitted exceptions) up here in my neck of the woods..
What's that? You want me to wear less? I know I haven't been logged in for a while, just too busy with other things, but I had to log in when I saw your comment. That buck finally came back, but I'll post the details in another thread, one one of the other rooms. Not the Game room since I haven't shot it ........................ yet! the everything else off topic room. To keep on the subject of "what else to bring in the woods cutting," I generally don't bring anything other than what I need to fell, limb, buck, and maybe split the larger rounds, but that's it. My Fiskars will protect me. Around my home, I'm considering starting to carry because of the coy dogs around here. I recently had a minor confrontation with a couple of hunting dogs when I went to get the mail. One kept growling at me, so I turned around and went back up to the house and they did follow a bit, a 40 yard walk, and retrieved my shotgun. They scattered when I threatened them with it, so no, I didn't shoot any of them. But I have to wonder if they would attack and have me as their lunch. I suppose if they get hungry enough, anything is possible. I really would prefer not to have to kill someones pet.
Not afraid. period. I read the newspaper and see the dumb things people do. I dont want to be a victim. I'd rather have it and not need it, than need it and not have it.
Alot of amish keep animals, they arent pets. That how alot of people feel about hunting dogs, that philosophy helps to make those dogs aggressive to people too. The lack of socialization and training to hunt causes big problems. Dont take this as anti hunting dog. I have two American Bulldogs from hunting bloodlines in my house....
Holy crap, you got it all going on. Everything but a crazed pack of zombies! I think you're gonna need a machine gun and hand grenades. Thank god I live in NH. Live free or Die!
I'm so sorry, you guys have to invite the robber into your home and serve him milk and cookies and then run out the back door until he's done robbing you. There is freedom to north brother!
Just got mine two days ago, fill out a one page form. Wait a week for the background check, all OK! Show up and pay 10 bucks for a four year permit at the local PD. Good to go!
