I took down 14 trees today, would have been 1 more but I couldn't get high enough with the lift to get it down safely. It's next to the house, so I'll be climbing it and getting a crane to piece it out. The rest of the trees went good though. Only had 1 get hung up but we got it out. Tomorrow I'll be loading logs and continuing the cleanup. Most of them are ash dead from EAB, one each of oak, cherry, and maple. Lots of BTUs laying on the ground there.

This is a paying job, the lady wants to keep the wood but I don't think she has any idea how much is there. She only burns a little in her house. I'm thinking I'll be getting to keep a good bit of it.

Nice work Sean. Yes, you'll probably get some of that wood but maybe she has some of it sold too?

That's a lot of wood. I couldn't rest easy with those trees so close to my house. Good that you got the dead ones down.

Nice work! If I knew 40 years ago how much I enjoyed tree work, I would have a way different life today.

Got the rest down today. Hardest one was today. It's an ash and was a little over 100' tall. Too tall and close to the house and power lines to drop. Got a crane in and rigged the top at 90' in two pieces and cut it off around 60. That was a rush and had some adrenaline going. The crane was awesome and had a great operator. The two tops came out really easy and the trunk laid down perfectly.

Being 90' up there was a little scary I have to admit. The home owner got pics and I'll post them when I get them. I was too busy today to take pics but will be back in the morning to chip brush and clean up. Hoping to finish it up tomorrow.

For sure when you are at 90' in a tree, things are much different!

Got the job all finished up. Loaded all the logs in a pile for her and chipped all the brush today. I ended up taking one load of logs home for myself. 4 sections of red oak should be a good bit. Filled my 12' trailer up pretty good.

Surprised she let you have red oak Sean. Did she think it was bad wood?
