After the recent crap in cali and the potus speech, some people are reporting that ammo is flying off the shelves as well as firearms. Some online retailers are beginning to show no stock as well. Are you seeing any panic buying in your area? I'm pretty well stocked, but if it's going to get as bad as it was before, I may have to pick up a few more things. Let's not get political. Just wanna know what you have seen.
Better hurry ........................... our "home grown friends" will be after it too! Or is that being political?
Still looking for .22 locally. Haven't seen or heard of any runs, but that doesn't mean anything. Just keep stocking up, if next Nov. ends up bad, it will get worse I'll wager.
I'm sure after each "shooting" there's a small run on ammo. I haven't checked any brick and mortar stores, but I was browsing some online stores yesterday and they seemed to have the normal stock. I'm more concerned about stocking up on magazines that are over 10 rounds, I could see another ban on them coming depending on who controls Congress next year. I'm good on just about everything but 5.56. I just need to pick up another 1k rounds or so before the election next fall, because if it goes the wrong way it'll be another 4 years before we see centerfire rounds on the shelf. In my area I'm starting to see .22 lr on the shelves about everywhere but Walmart. I still grab a brick pretty much whenever I see it, but I'm starting to get more picky about how much I'll pay for it.
I checked online yesterday, seems a lot of the retailers are still loaded for the holiday season. Local stores however, the stuff is flying off the shelves. I do expect in the coming days, many ammos will go on back order......
I haven't seen it in the last 2 years, not.22 anyways, here and there ya but regularly, no way. I did pick up 2 "bucket o bullets" Remington brand 1500 or so rounds for $60 I think it was, didn't need them and needed the cash so I sold them on an auction site, one for $165 and the next for $150. I guess they needed it more than I. May be frowned upon by a few but I didn't force anyone to buy it. I can wait to pay a fair price. A guy at work had piles and piles and piles of ammo stocked up, when the Sandy hook incident hit and everyone panicked people were happy to pay a huge premium for the rounds he had. I'm not saying it's right to sell like that and I'm not saying it's wrong, but sometimes people gotta have it, it's the rule of supply and demand. I've seen a couple stores with bricks sitting on the shelves for months, but there selling it for triple what it was before these shootings really took off.
Per bro dealer. Yes picked up big time again. Guy drove just over 4hrs in Ohio to pick up a used $1700 black gun off him.FN FS2000 .223 Getting orders from all over coming in he said.
Hey no need for anyone to get offended.. I live in new england patriot country I saw on ebay someone wanted a sweatshirt when they were undefeated I picked him up 1 I paid 39 something for and shipped to him.. he paid 90 for it.. He said this was fine by him. and to buy 5 more for same deal. so I bought store out. Same story different product.. in short good for you honestly for 1 it almost wasn't worth hassle of going to store parking taxes and post office..
I was just happy that the first one that sold paid for both of the buckets I bought, and the gas to take it to the auction place, second was purely cash in my pocket!
Boog and I roll our own, so Panic buying is for those who Panic! Somehow I don't think that the Big Ammo Manufacturers are going to go out of business, in fact they will probably produce more now! Just wait until things settle down and the prices will go down because there will be more Ammo than they can sell.
I guess there is some panic buying going on, I just received an email from ammoman.com basically saying they've had a ton or traffic this week, but more supplies are on the way so they'll still have ammo in stock.
I'm a reloader as well and have a good stash of components, but if this crap is gonna happen again and I can get 1 more bulk order in, well dammit I'm gonna. I worked hard the past 3 years to build a supply and I'm not about to watch it dwindle. I hope it's just holiday shopping due to the soft market and great prices. I can still hope, right?
I really think these are all just short-run panic buys. I'm guessing there will be another, slightly longer one, when the winner of the Democratic presidential nominee is named no matter who it is. And then next October there will probably be more panic buying as the election gets closer. The real test will be when the results are announced Nov 9th. If it goes one way, all the panic buying will stop right then and there. But if it goes the other way, I think we'll have a repeat of the months and years after 2008. I don't remember how long after that it took before common center fire hand gun and rifle rounds started showing up reliably, but I think it was a few years. I don't reload (yet), but I know supplies for that took a hard hit as well. And 8 years later we STILL can't count on going to Walmart and buying .22 lr!!
I stock up when I can. My mother and brother in-law always keep an eye out for me. I had to tell them to slow down. They were bringing it in too fast. I'm stocked now and can be picky on price. I do save ammo when I can. The bow gets more use than it use to. My group at 20 yards is getting better.
You keep on Robin hooding those arrows and you'll be broke! Lol. Nice shootin! I've only done that once and it cost me over $20. Now I shoot 5 spots.
