We are getting a total of 12 or so inches in a 36 hour period beginning last evening. I'm going out to do snow now, but will have 3 or 4 more trips outside before it's all done. Picked up a Honda 520 off Craigslist under $500 new and have everything I need fortunately. I love winter, but I could do without the blizzards every so often. If I had my old Toro snowblower, which was 2 stroke but very small, I'd be dreading this storm. For what I have to clear, that Honda is reliable and adequately powered for a single stage machine. I picked up a new shovel this year, and many bags of salt...but what a hassle all the same. 4 stroke snowblower doesn't leave you smelling like a chainsaw though, which is a bonus of that design even if it doesn't have the same horsepower per cc that a 2 stroke has.
Not exactly happy with my snowblower but once it's started it beats the shovel. Wheels spin too easy when dugs it, going to make deep snow a real job. Stay safe firecracker.
If I had a bunch of time off like most people do this time of year, I would like it. But having to drive through it for work makes me not a big fan.
We are getting your leftovers from that storm Jack. I had to go to work at 6 am to fix a hydraulic line then help plow. Im home now but tired.
We've had about 8-9 inches and we've got another 1 inches today coming before it wraps up. Low of -1 tonight. Whew!!!!
We're supposed to get a foot now, warmest it got today was -2... Couple days ago they were predicting 2-4 inches; would have been nice, tired of dealing with the snow.
Wheres Dex at? Im getting tired of plowing the roads for him to get to work. I came home to eat and nap then have to go back in. Someone remind me why I live in Northeast Ohio.
This storm was a joke here. The predicted 8-12 and blizzard like conditions with schools canceling the evening before turned out to be about 4" of light snow. A delayed school opening to get the roads clear would have been prudent, closing them before was over reacting. At least I don't have to go to work till noon.
We ended up with 10" at home. Work had just about 20". A few towns over from work had over 24" and one town had a report of 30". Heavy bands of snow coming in off the ocean, 30 mph winds, single digits overnight and over 24 hours of snow.
