Ouch! Love how the guy by the truck just stands and watches. :)

Watched it twice, truck was pulling all the while. Wasn't enough though was it?

What I don't understand is that it looks as if they are trying to drop that tree onto already felled and limbed trees. It just seems it would be a lot of climbing and extra work if it actually went in the direction of the truck.

Yeah...ooops.... Not sure even if the truck was another 20-30 degrees further to the driver's side would have made the difference.
I witnessed(minus the building, but instead a power line) similar last winter, and the same thing is evident here-a bunch of limb weight to one side of the tree....

I think the guy in the truck was sleeping, maybe waiting for saw noises to pull harder.....

It is hard to be absolutely sure from the video, but it looks like all the branches are on one side of the tree: the side pointing to the house. I can't imagine the limbed it that way, so it must have been a shading issue. Either way, it is a LOT of weight pulling the wrong way.

There was almost zero pull by the truck. His back wheels were spinning the last few seconds from what I could see. Pulling trees with a 2wd truck aint always the best idea :picard:

O man that last one is freaky!! My buddy had that happen in one of our crazy storms. It picked up the tree and threw it almost 100ft onto his truck bed. He said all he could do was lay down on the bench seat and floor it when he saw it coming but it was too little too late and totalled his tundra completely. Now the joke is god was helping him get firewood. :D

Yeah, the harder it pulls, the more its rear tires are unloaded. Pulling 90 degrees to where you really don't want it to go isn't the best idea also.

I see this as an opportunity for the homeowner to remodel.

    1) Garage is too small.
    2) Hire the most incompetent tree company you can find
    3) Submit insurance claim
    4) Build bigger garage

When I bought my house there was a pine tree with about a 30" base in the same location to my house. It was close enough that the branches were all leaning against the chimney so I decided to take the entire thing down. I had the exact same set up, except only had my mid sized 4X4 Frontier hooked up to the tree! We did bring down all of the branches on the house-side of the pine first to un-weight it in that direction as much as possible. Lucky for us the tree fell exactly where we wanted it to. But my brother almost killed my buddy in the process! He really wanted to be in the truck, so I let him drive while by buddy was on a ladder dropping the branches off. My job was to direct my brother when to move. On a particularly large branch that was leaning on the roof, as soon as my brother saw the branch start to move he floored the truck, knocking my buddy off the ladder and literally ripping the branch off the tree as the saw had only gone about half way though. I'm surprised my buddy did't pull my brother from the truck and beat his @$$, he was pretty mad!

Hard to tell, but it seems like he cut the hinge wrong, or cut right through it. Gravity only works one way
