You've got some ambitious plans! My outside work might be slow for me. I want to get more work done on my shed and split some more apple and elm, but the snow is starting to melt and it might be a huge mess where I would be working. Sunday a local church puts on a live display of the town of Bethlehem in there basement. Set up a whole village with shops and character actors and animals including bringing in cows and sheep. Then our fair has a festival of trees with music and food at the old round barn on the fairgrounds. Also need to decorate the foot bridge in the park with fresh garland. Our family has been buying garland and putting it up the railing for about dozen or so years. In fact I proposed to my bride when we went out to take the garland down and later had our wedding ceremony on the bridge a year and half later.
I plan on grabbing more downed wood, I took June & July off so I'm almost caught up. The wife did ask me this morning if I thought we had anymore downed Ironwood, yup, so I'll be getting more of that.
Hope to cut a bit more wood. Might even stack some of what I didn't get done last spring. Son coming in Sat evening for a visit so may put him to work too.
Yeah my wood getting stacking and splitting has been on a steady break. Trying to get another deer or two then I plan on hitting it like a mad man. With these mild temps I plan on wood collecting for a while!
I spent the last few weekends buttoning up all my wood for the season, bucking, splitting a couple of cords, bringing in a bunch of the chunks for this warm day/chilly night weather for small fires, and loading the sheds.... got it all done because..... I had hernia surgery Thursday.... so the only "action' I'll see this weekend is my fingers on the remote control! I hope mine is not 3 weeks! We shall see. the first day was tough, today is much better already.. so I'm guessing I'll be good in a week or 2.
Just doing this.... Got my efficient Fireplace insert!!!! | Firewood Hoarders Club Taking ibuprofen now
I usually have twenty hrs of work for a Saturday.. So yesterday finished stacking wood that had been split from two weeks ago. Clean up and cut oak skid/pallets that I have been scrounging. Move a skid steer load of firewood to the back porch. Add a new roost and clean out the poop/shavings from the chicken coop. Run couple tanks through chainsaw. Clean up and meet wife's coworker and husband for dinner. ' And mostly remember to take pictures. Very lucky the stars aligned very little wind and was able to work till dark. Waddled in to dinner.
Still not feeling well. Got an hour in at slow motion and snapped a few pictures. Almost All of the standing trees will be coming down over the winter too
