Not sure if this applies to cnice_37 , but I like WWW's lined/unlined flannels that shrink in the wash. Kinda like the boyfriend jeans thing, except there is enough room underneath for extra layers in cold weather. If she is looking for function maybe a mens size small? If she is looking to be shapely, yes, women's kind.....

    They call it "lumbersexual".

Yes, it's a thing, and I can't stop laughing about it.

Sportsman's Guide stuff is kind of cheapo.
I ordered a firehose "hanger bender" for myself to replace the Bean flannel lined canvas that I've just about worn out after ~8yrs of daily use in sub 40F weather.
I'll see how well it replaces my original but I browsed the women's clothing for the GF while I was online shopping
Duluth seems limited on women's clothing but maybe a small/med in a men's shirt?

Then there's guys that wear women's skinny jeans. Those are rivals to the lumbersexual and hipster crowds.

So I was googling a match for my favorite worn out shirt before dropping big coin on the Duluth firehose "hanger bender"
My sticking point is I want metal snap buttons, but flannel (not synthetic lined fleece that sticks to your skin in an electrical flash- job related considerations)
Bean's has the hurricane shirt which is identical to my original but only comes with buttons=Duluth $
Cabela's has a similar Roughneck for half the coin of Duluth

Apparently GF had ESP because she looked for one today at the dept store and came up empty

    So is LL Bean...
If I'm buying a quality product that lasts for years(5+) that makes it worth it, American run business? but they probably outsource the manufacturing overseas which is BS for an $80 shirt
most of Bean's flannel is Portuguese (atleast the old stuff I have) which is still top notch linen

WWW has a couple cabelas brand clothing items that are almost indestructible. We are still mail order only, but they have great customer service over the phone/chat.
