Just so everybody understands yesterday 12/1 there were massive multimedia updates flying around and when that happens it is more than likely that very little works well together or at all. In some worlds these get all bundled together and dumped as a "service pack" maybe after somebody else finds and corrects a pile of issues (this doesn't always happen). If I were running a major system that was web based in the retail world I sure as hell wouldn't muck with it during the busy season. That is why major financial institutions do their conversions during long weekends. Nothing like slinging the brown stuff at rapidly rotating devices. The last time I checked I had far more software and media files than the average bear. I'm in the throws of doing a little hardware change to cheapen my 'tricty bill and making my entire media collection available for steaming 24/7. I like to start with an up to date system. USB sticks no longer cut it. Oh one of the items I bought came with a free year of unlimited Amazon Cloud storage and another purchase came with 2 years of 200GB cloud storage. Only one problem I don't think I can get a TWC account that can upload any where near fast enough to really use it.

ETA: Even Facebook got into the act, you may or may not see that one.

I had 2 different orders for small/inexpensive items placed on Thursday and 1 on Friday. Both were guaranteed by Prime for delivery by Dec 1. Well as of 4PM Dec 1, they both still showed on time for delivery by 8PM, yet hey hadnt left the warehouse yet.

I looked for the drones to deliver last night-but nothing

I wont complain as they will both be here tomorrow-being in the service industry I understand their situation right now and neither of these are time sensitive on my end.

Once again it is noisy around here and maybe later I'll fake out the video services on user agent strings. HTML5 audio and video is active and not using the HDMI interface for output. Said goodbye to flash.

I regularly get notified that a package was delivered, and still have to wait a day or two before it shows up. One time it was 3 days and I complained to Amazon since I had paid for guaranteed next day. They refunded the money and gave me a store credit to boot. And, of course, they can only go by what the Big brown Truck or Big White truck scans in as delivered. I especially have issues with the White truck - I routinely get notices of delivery way before the actual deed. It is always suspect if it's before 8 PM (no, that isn't a typo).

The only time I've had something show up after it was marked "Delivered" and it wasn't there, was when it was delivered to the wrong place. I've had both FedEx and the US Mail mess it up. Both times when a substitute was on. I've also had stuff marked incorrect address. My delivery for today. Well getting chromium up to snuff with the html5 stuff instead of flash.

LOL brings to mind an order for roof trusses for the new barn years ago. I kept trying to give the driver pertinent information, color of the house and outbuildings etc, the driver kept saying he had GPS... he was fine and didn't need anything. Just couldn't get him to work with me, after several attempts I gave up and said he must be smarter than me.

The next day I got an angry phone call from a neighbor wanting to know why my trusses were dumped on his lawn, five houses down the road.  I got GPS for brains!!!!

BTW I had just gotten off the phone with Amazon after 28 minutes trying to figure out what they had done to my six part order. :headbang: Sorry we'll issue a refund. Now if I could be reimbursed for my time.

My pet peeve is when Amazon uses sure post or smart post, whatever they call the name for UPS dropping it at the post office instead of my doorstep. They also are indiscriminate with weight or size. I have had several purchases returned to sender because I was not able to pick the items up at the USPS office in town. Grr.

I feel all of your delivery pain here also, all I can say is it's an incredibly busy time of year for the regular route drivers, any 'casual' seasonal drivers are buried up-to-their-ears in boxes in their truck and working 10-12 hr day w/o a lunch, and any contracted route drivers are absolutely going to pre-scan packages they may not be able to deliver, to avoid getting 'dinged' on their route completion reporting..

Living in the woods, I've resigned myself that any package scanned 'out for delivery' may not show up for a day or so here. ( Always try to be very nice to the drivers, only because after being beaten on all day - a little kindness goes a long way, and is remembered on the next delivery. )

Agree, never give the driver a hard time. Our group of delivery people are really nice folks. A lot of them call my dogs by their names. They know I am limited physically and go out of their way to make sure they live the packages where I can get to them. Usually they open the porch door and set them inside. I have a package shipped prime that is scheduled for delivery before 8pm. but UPS shows it as just being ready for shipping. No matter. It is just kitty litter. Gifts are being delivered now. No problem with them either. No painful walking in the stores, standing in line, or being exposed to germs from all the coughing.

Don't you hate that when you order online so it's delivered at home but a delivery card shows up for you to pick it up in town, ggrr:mad: Just plain lazy by the delivery company, Always nice to the drivers which they have no decision made up the totem pole (they better not )

Never had that happen. What messes with me is having UPS pass it off to the USPS and adds another day to the delivery time.

My wife ordered some stuff from Amazon last week. She got an email saying it would be delivered on 11/29 (Sunday). It wasn't a rush and she didn't ask for Sunday delivery, so we figured it would come Monday. About 6 PM Sunday night, the doorbell rings and its our neighbor with a box. USPS delivered it, just to a house 600 feet away.

On Monday our normal USPS mail lady came to pick up the daily shipments from my wife's business (this is her busy time of year). She said that the contract the USPS has with Amazon required Sunday delivery if that's the way it is shipped. They have a handful of drivers who handle Sunday deliveries out of the Grand Rapids post office. I hope they made money on that delivery because it's a 40 mile round trip to GR from my house.

yes, we have received Sunday deliveries. I really have no need for Sunday delivery, but it goes with prime. If I order on Friday, usually it comes on Sunday.
Wish there was someone on there to click if it ok to be on normal delivery schedule.

Yup, that's the contract. Nope, USPS loses money every time they do a Sunday ...zon Prime delivery here.

My pet peeve also, "Super Saver" shipping.. (Avoid it whenever possible, it adds 2-3 days to delivery here. Much like ivanhoe getting that dreaded Orange delivery card.)

Same here, I know my UPS and FedEx guys and are thankful for them. They come right in my false front door to my enclosed porch and leave the packages inside there for me. Both regular drivers walk over/through tall snow drifts 150' to deliver during the winter. And they are all friendly and kind too!! Dogs still bark but the really loud shrill one actually lets out a happy bark instead of an alarm bark, neat deal:thumbs:

I do not appreciate the dreaded orange card. Is there a way to tell if it will be sure post when purchasing?
