bogydave, I noticed something for the first time in your pictures. The plywood squares and knotted rope looks like a good technique for keeping the stacks tight. Do you have them on all your stacks in the shed and at what spacing?

    Nice work and great pictures!

bogydave I've probably asked this before but, how much wood do you keep in your basement?

I saw that too. It was one of those "DOH! Why didn't *I* think of that?" moments.

    Thanks
    Yes
17" , tight to where I have to jam the splits behind the plywood.
    Got a thread somewhere discussing it. 1/2" hole & 1/2" rope .

The 17/18 wood I tried just one in the center. Seems pretty stable so far: + (tied row 6 end cross-stack to the shed corner post )

    Yea :( :(
    clear skies
14° now. Frost going deeper with no snow to insulate the ground. :(
Walk/drive on the grass & it breaks , crunchy sounds, pushing the frost even deeper.
    We need snow !!!
None in the forecast for at least a week :(

Yeah that will be nice to not have to go out in the deep snow and blowing wind for an armful of wood! I dont keep as much inside as you but usually 1-2 weeks in my attached garage. Sure is a lot less hassle!
