:banana:Well, a few weeks ago my father blew in engine in our 2003 Dodge Ram 3500, Cummins dually, it has 255,555 miles on it, and I believe the first owner beat the heck out of it... and my dad hot rods a diesel way to much when he drives them.... dang kids anyway! So I went on the search for a replacement. Since we have had a very good year, I had been looking for a 3/4 ton truck for my daily driver, and a new sales "car" for dad. (we own a post frame and steel frame construction company together) But got a have a big truck for trailer duty! I was looking for a 2011-2013 Ram 3500 crew cab, 4x4, single rear wheel (non dually) Cummins, with the Longhorn package, and less than 50K miles on the odometer.... ohhh also in all white, please. (good guys always wore white hats in the westerns when I was a kid) I searched all over the country for this truck, only found one out in Washington State, and they wanted dang near new price for it!:faint: I was considering just ordering a new truck, but really need a truck NOW... so I searched on, finding a non dually Ram 3500 was a tall order, I found a few with either higher miles then I wanted, or again to close to what I can buy one for new.:headbang: I remembered a buddy of mine that move away had text me mid summer with a truck for sale... I was to busy, and not yet looking for a truck, and just blew it off, on a whim I called him up, he still have the truck, it ended up being a 2011 Ram 3500, dually :(, 44,000 miles, 6.7 Cummins with the AISIN 6 speed auto, 4x4, with the Longhorn package, White with gold at the bottom:(.... with an Edge CST 5 screen programmer, chipped, full delete, 5" to 8" tip on the exhaust, and coated to match replacement front and rear bumpers:bug::dex:.... and all for $10k less than I wanted to spend!:cool:

My buddy delivered the truck on Saturday, and boy howdy does it run! Went to a job site to get the trailer with Lovely Wife and Little Guy, he was thrilled (even though he told me white trucks are dangerous, and I needed a blue truck) on Sunday, the truck pulls sooo much better then our 03' ever did. I loaded up a 30x50x10 building on it this morning, and it still pulled like a dream! And WOW the power!

I run an '01 5.9L 24V with the 6 spd NV5600, My trailer is a 7x12 for my construction/handyman business, that being said i have the trailer weighing in at 10K pounds(its ok, twin dexter axles). I have a smarty tuner on it, running map #3. If i turn it up higher it slips the clutch :(. This truck is on its second replacement VP44 pump with a raptor lift pump. Performance wise it cant be beat, but i think the rust is gonna catch it in the next 5-7 years...... Chrysler......

Put a south bend or valair street dual disc in and you'll not hurt the clutch on the highest level the smarty has.

What are you going to do with the 03? Rebuild or engine swap?

Ahh. I've put a couple in on new trucks with less than 500 miles on them. I used to not be able to stand driving a stock one for more than off the lot to work on it.

5.9 vs 6.7 GET THE CHAINS...I'm guessing that DEF fluid is going to give you a traction advantage. ..
