My bride sent me a picture while I was at work. She kept the fire going while I was away....but she might need a little practice in regulating the heat a bit.
She did dang good! That temp is good for two reasons: 1) The warmth is good for your bones after a long day. 2) I've found that if it is warm in the house, garments are "shed" more easily... if you know what I mean. *wink wink*
I just loaded up the boiler with another load of some standing dead Pine I cut last Spring. It's right at 28 on the back porch. Damp cold.
Wow. That is quite a difference from here. I was cautious on the way back from son's basketball practice. Drizzle and truck thermometer said 32.
Burned some ash and 2 pieces of oak last night got 19 hours out of that load, 44 today 39 now I'm on the back end of a load of pine, 77 in the house, low tonight 32
Accuweather has me at 22 deg. My thermo on the deck has me at 6 deg. It's cold, had to fire up the furnace. Helped take the bite off, Jabba can handle the rest of the night.
Not much. Wind has been so fierce it's blown most of it to Kansas, or somewhere. Had a guy in the shop today from Como, it was -22 wind chill . edit- That's E. of the Divide. W. of the Divide, enough snow the resorts are open.
Thermometer on my back porch says its 32. Weather channel app says it is 40 for Ogdensburg. Whatever it is a cold rain right now. Talk about damp cold.
It was 44 when I hit the sack last night and even warmer when I woke up this morning, 45, we're at 46 so we won't have a fire.
Dang! Impressive burn times and great heat too. I remember looking at a Lopi when I was stove shopping, but like so many stoves was ruled out as I needed rear draft. Is your stove the 2.2 cf hybrid?
The rain continues here. Off and on. Not heavy, but we are soaked. Low 30s now with Pine in boiler keeping chill out!
Totally off topic, but reading all the reports of the temperatures reminded me of this George Carlin skit (some adult language) "....which is stupid because I don't know anyone who lives at the airport"
33...windy...spitting snow...and just nasty outside. Just put on the first full load of the year. White oak. Should be good to go for the next 18 hours.
