Yes. I've seen those. But to me, the batch box is where it's at... Loading more like a regular stove, with an actual door is much more gooder for me. Whenev's I get to building it:picard:

Just finished up my chunks, uglies, and campfire wood this week. Took 2 months to get through it all, and I'd guess maybe 1/2 cord but it's hard to tell because I burned a lot in the fire pit. Hauled one load up to the house of half pine and half oak and it's looking like that will last 10 days at least. I could use a mild December but I do like it to get cold around Christmas - I wouldn't say no to snow either.

I am about 1/3 to 1/2 less so far this year vs. last year. They are predicting that we will have above normal temps with normal precep. here this winter and so far they are bang on. Not complaining at all.

Noticed it but I didn't comment on the gallon jug of who knows what or the cardboard box either. They are just unrelated things in the pictures.

We've probably burned close to 3/4 cord. Been pulling from the poplar rack and ugly rack mostly. Some oak burned a half dozen times. Mother nature & Old man winter will be along shortly.

Burned close to a half cord prbably so far. It is still very mild here in Southern WV, not complaining at all after last couple of winters. Next 10 days, mostly in 50's with a couple of nights getting down in high 20's, the rest of the nights will be high 30's, low 40's.

The blue "jug" has some stuff in it I got from a power co. tree crew that's supposed to keep cut trees from regrowing, and it's only about a quart. Sort of tree related.
The cardboard box has kindling inside.

I'm at about 4/10 cord here. At last years pace, it would have been just about double that. And I've had some totally superfluous fires just because I wanted a fire already. I've had to open the doors a few times to cool off my wife I mean house. But it is helping me get ahead.

I've just about used a 1/3 of a cord... I just brought three more buckets (JD 45 Loader) to get me through this rainy weekend...

I'm only doing night burns. Last year we had a warm December but November was cold so I started earlier. I still think winter hits us pretty good for the second half.

Burned about half a cord so far. Reloaded the garage this morning with a bit over a face cord of black cherry, american elm, white oak.

Will have burned about 2/3 of a cord by the end of the weekend/early next week. A better part of it has been my shoulder wood though. Mostly cottonwood and boxelder. Touched the oak a little a few weeks back and using more at the moment.

I haven't even burned 1/2 cord. Record warmth in the NE as you all know, burning a fire now to to take the chill out as it's 40 deg and raining. I have only had one overnight fire, the rest are all evening and morning ones.

Are you using any other heat? I've burned about the same amount here in NC

I had to go to town this morning. When I got back around noon, wife had a fire going. Felt good too. I added a couple sticks later and we'll keep it going probably for the next 3 or 4 days for sure.

You guys get any snow on the ground up that way yet? I saw Muskegon area had flurries in the forecast. We're supposed to get up to 1/2" tomorrow.
