Well, half time in the Rose Bowl, c'mon Spartans. Just finished a feed of roast chicken and veggies. Thermometer sitting @ -25.6 headed for -32. Glad the holidays are over even though I am still off until next tuesday. The Mrs. has to go back to work tomorrow so time to get some renos inside moving again.

Dont you mean up rt16 from Medfa ?

I loved the Swampscott area especially into Marblehead where we use to go out by Marblehead Point where the light house is. Very relaxing there and a great getaway. We probably even partook in "other activities" at times ;)

Here's a tip:'don't use borax in a dishwasher. Almost all the homemade dishwasher detergents call for it, but all it seems to do is cause a whitish film and a buildup on the machine itself. Scrubbed it out of our dishwasher with the help of a soap scum remover today.

Believe it or not, dump a package of Orange Tang in the dishwasher and run it through a cycle. Everything should come out sparkling. Our appliance repair friend said that Tang cleans the residue from the dishwasher detergent. I have done it a couple of times and it seems to work.

It's all that citric acid in it. We buy citric acid by the jar when it's in stock (canning season). I saved a small dawn bottle and mix the acid with water and squirt a little bit into the dishwasher with each load. It's been slowly dissolving all the junk off the side, leaving bits of it on the dishes. The bits have been becoming more and more as the layers come loose. That's why I went all scrubber on it!

I almost typed Medfa' but I figured you might come back with that. I'm not a Noath Showah boy myself.. but my wife is. She grew up in Lynn and Peabody. Her Dad worked at the GE in Lynn. 42 years. One of the nicest guys I ever knew.

    Watching the Submarine Races?!

Finally got the Xmas Tree down in the main living area.. sheesh.. my Resolute is no match for the whole house when it's down in the low teens for temps.

Got the Fireview doing what it does best. Now I'm into two stove burning and the whole house is T-shirt temps.

Years ago I think most everyone that lived in Lynn worked at GE and they were good jobs. I had several friends that worked there. Not sure its as big an employer anymore. I could be wrong about that though.

Submarine races and maybe some less than completely legal activities for the time period ;) I think that may have changed in MA? Wouldn't matter to me anymore anyway. Well the submarine races would :p

When I worked at Newport News Shipbuilding (84 to 87) my goal was to get a job at GE...Although I always thought they were in Bath ME!

I don't know if they ever were in Bath Maine, but at one time GE was spread all over New England. The closed their Corporate Headquarters in Schenectady NY and, although I haven't been there for a while, it was almost a ghost town last time I drove through. Maybe 10 years ago.

That is Bath Iron Works (BIW) where they build destroyers. I dont think that they are associated with GE, but probably as big an employer for Bath, Maine that GE was for Lynn Mass. My company use to have the account for the copier service there. We have since split the company back in 2008 and I work and deal with the NH and southern Maine side of business.
