just have to tell someone about the deal I got today!

So yesterday I saw an ad on Facebook, a garage sale group, a guy was parting out a truck, I asked about tires and rims for my 94 ck1500, his was a90 ck1500, had pictures up acc looked like some good tread, obviously not brand new, but not bald, he shot me a price I couldn't turn down, asked about a starter and an alternator, shot me a price, again I couldn't refuse. Got there tonight and found that the alternator was either brand new or newly remaned recently, also gave me a brand' new serpentine belt.
Anyone want to take a stab at what I paid for it all? 4 rims and tires, in good shape, alternator (Pretty new) and a old likely original starter and new serpentine belt

$165, was just looking at belts starters and alternators, new or renamed on advanced auto and those three alone are easily$100

Thanks, I'm completely stoked, been worried about having to buy new tires for the truck since I bought it, and then having to mount and balance 4 on top of that? Makes my skin crawl thinking about that bill, now I've got an extra set of rims so I can do it all at home!

 

Lets see here. I just replaced ALL of those items on my 05 chevy. Here is my parts price list of all new parts:

aftermarket starter $150ish (fixed in gas station parking lot grrrr)
aftermarket alternator $165 (fixed in office parking lot grrrrr)
belt $30
tires $560 (including install)

Did you get another set of rims as well? I'd imagine not, but I'm curious what a set of rims goes for, there even the good rims not just black steel rims, I'll have to flip one over out of the snow and put up a picture later. Sorry to hear it had to be changed in the parking lot, I can't stand wrenching as it is, throw an emergency parking lot fix on top of that and I'm over irritated guy for a day.

 

No wheels...mine were fine. The aluminum wheels bring almost $20 each scrap value alone so you definitely got a great deal

 

And a lot more than that if you are trying to buy a good used set...$2-500/set depending on what they are

One tire is chopped on the inside, but it could be bald for all I care I got a deal! there's more meat on them than the tires I have already
