Fall Update #2 - Unloading, splitting, and start of stacking

Since early October I've been able to haul some good heaping loads in the F250 from my neighbors to my house and stacking area. Can't remember how many trips right now, but I think about 10 or so. Ended up with 2 long (30' or so) heaps of rounds - stacked the first big heap, then hauled the next and started splitting those loads. Had enough new pallets to replaced the old ones - 4 years took their toll - but I use the old ones as a flat roof on the new pallets to keep the rubber roofing nice and flat. Some pics of the first loads of rounds and getting the first stacks going. Cheers!

Thanks! Always a little bitter sweet breaking them down to burn - the stacks sit for at least 4 years - that's a lot of sitting near them with a brew and enjoying them! Cheers!

Thanks Farmlands and Welcome to FHC! Yes, each stack is on a pallet. Almost all red oak - the most oak I've put up in one year - normally only get a cord or 2, but lucked out this year and probably another 3 cord to haul out. Cheers!
