Engineering is the fella with the broom pushing sawdust into piles at the feeder throat.

After looking into it he told the chief a new push broom would likely lower ash levels and increase heat. A memo was circulated to Senior management asking for input on the new broom suggestion and it was decided that the issue should be floated at the next Directors meeting.

At that meeting a committee was formed to study the issue of a new broom and a recommendation is expected no later than the third quarter of 2016 when it will be discussed among senior management. In the interim period it was recommended that no sweeping take place.

  You've been there too, huh? That's right on point. And of course the engineering fella gets stuck doing a cost benefit analysis on the purchase of a new push broom.

Recently burned 2 bags of Curran Hardwoods (TSC), 3 bags of Geneva Hardwoods (TSC), and 3 bags of Pennington Oaks (Walmart). From all, the heat was fine, ash was the typical heavy black grainy kind that builds up in the pot and requires a fairly regular scraping. Order of preference: the Penningtons were the best, followed by Currans, then Genevas. Funny thing about those Currans, they produced a flame that was very blue at the base (most noticeable I have seen).

My stoves can burn anything, but the two worst brands I have tried were the "Original" Infernos
    and Pennington.
