Not sure, the guy at Napa told me this about 15 years ago. Maybe something to do with the magnets?

I think they may be talking about the housing, not the innards.. sorry if that's stating the obvious. Just a way to make them cheaper/lighter.

I believe its the magnets inside the housing. I was always told you break the old skool magnet if you hit it but if its the last straw oh well. :)

About the same here. Coffee and I'm making 4 quarts of split pea soup and 4 quarts of turkey stock for soup. I will bring some wood in to the basement today. Nor'easter with winds is predicted.

Pretty high activity at the bird feeders today. They know something is up.

Very cool !! Day before a holiday is almost always very quiet and we leave early. We are in service industry though so we have to be open for at least half the day.

For me it was a very busy day yesterday. Small company and last day of the year. Closing the financials and making sure as many loose ends got tied up. Owner left around 1:30 and told me that we can leave when we felt ok about everything. The newly hired receptionist (young girl) thought that meant we were leaving-I just chuckled. I did let her and the service guys go around 2:30-3:00 and us final 3 were out around 4:00. Made for a tired New Years Eve. But that's just fine with me...I did my NYE partying many years ago :D :p

Today we are recuperating from last night. Just had breakfast and took out some Tbones out of the freezer for a late lunch-early dinner. Both of our kids are at their friends so its just my wife and I home a lone. "Hey Now". Mainly watching tv. We do have to bring wood into the house in advance of the cold snap and snow coming tonight.

Just relaxing today and taking it easy. Been real busy at work plus the holidays so a down day is very welcomed. Storm coming for next 2 days so will be dealing with work and snow cleanup for the rest of the workweek.

It's incredible.. I cut through that rump roast like it was soft butter (and it wasn't) :) I always left the cooking utensil acquisition to my wife and she is probably a bit more budget conscious. This carving knife was a gift from my future SIL, and he loves to cook.. they have like every gizmo known to man regarding cooking.

You need the right knife when carving any meat really.
