just thought I'd share my home made splitter.made from a few scrap parts and an old lawnmower we had laying around. Thinking of adding a log lift and a 2 stage pump to replace the single stage that's on it now. Lots of fun putting this together.

    Nice
It's low enough, a ramp would help for any big stuff, until you get the log lift.
    Good job

That's very cool. I bet that unit slays the rounds pretty good. Noticed the engine runs higher RPM's than the B&S motor on my store-bought Swisher 22-ton. Any advantage to higher RPM's .. like faster ram speed or more power?

As far as the rpm it's at whatever the old riding mower was set at. It does have a good cycle time but I think that's maybe to do with the single stage pump. In time there will be a 2stage put on it.

Neat! Wish I had learned about how to build with steel and hydraulics back in the day. Too late except that can now marvel at those who can compliments of U Tube. Good job brother.
