Ok, so this is my first legit post other than my intro. So take it as you may.

    1. The BK King can run on a 6" flue under ideal circumstances..... There are specs for the minimum vertical flue rise after the stove that need followed as a start. Its worth looking into... a call to bk or a look on their site should provide any specs you need to assist.

    2. It looks like you fixed your flue slope issue, this is good because the minimum slope is not only for the smoke rising but for any liquid creosote to find its way back INTO the stove so that it doesnt condense in the pipe and become that hard nasty creosote.

    3. Chimney cap, you need one. The cap keeps rain and critters out of the flue. The rain will rot the pipe and your stove. The critters get in and can block the pipe, especially with all of those bends that you have in there.

    4. The CAT. Its your friend, it increases the efficiency of your stove as well as reducing particulates. Reducing the pollution is nice to your neighbors. Increasing efficiency means that all of that hard work you do to cut, split, and dry your wood is partially wasted.
I went from a 55% effiecient POS US Stove company stove to a BK Princess with a minimum rating of 81% efficiency and the performance is proven by my decrease in wood consumed. The effieiency has made it easy for me to get to the 3 year plan.

I hope this was usefull and i'm sometimes not good at coming across without being rude, or a know it all or whatever. Take the advice for what you can....

Never been a fan of the chimney cap. I had one on for a while and thought it was interfering with the draft.

Maybe a cat in the future but I believe the price for the cat is north of $200 so even with improved efficiency it would take awhile to pay off. The stove is not a smoker by any means it burns hot and clean. I know a cat will make it better but I just want to make sure it is working right and right for my situation before I try it.

Don't care about the neighbors who spend the summer trying to burn grass clippings.

That Blaze King Princess Ultra of yours is a sweet stove, I would like to get one someday.

No cat needed on that stove! It was meant to burn as is! A chimney cap won't hurt but not needed.

I definitely like the big burn box and since I have burned it a few times now, I am impressed with the amount of heat it can throw.
