Anyone know the ingredients to super cedars other than cedar shavings and wax? I normally leave the scraps from a whole cedar laying by the stove.

Our Australian Shepherd has never paid any attention to them...until tonight. We were gone for 20 minutes and came home to shredded super cedar all over the floor.

She is acting fine, short of a scolding.

Anything to be worried about here?

Cedar and wax are all the ingredients.

Can dogs eat prunes? Seriously.... I know they can't eat grapes, just thinking of fiber to push wax thru... Come stove time my dogs chew any bark, they can snatch up... I could use some of their doodads as fire starters.

Put some gravy out for him, it will make a nice laxative.

The only thing that knocks her breath down is a good old fashioned brushing. It's ferocious.

It doesn't seem like cedar is poisonous to dogs after a quick read on multiple websites. The wax may cause a mild gastrointestinal (diarrhea or vomiting) episode, and it would be best to call your vet with any concern or signs of problems.

Non Toxic food grade paraffin and sawdust. No problems should be expected UNLESS your pet is allergic to paraffin or sawdust. Every year we get a few calls about pets or kids eating the Super Cedars.

Super Cedar I appreciate your quick response. All's well with Bailey (aussie) in KY. We'll keep an eye on her for the next few hours.

That sounds exactly like what our Aussie would do......my wife is always saying he is going to have splinters coming out his behind as he loves to chew wood scraps or swipe a hole log if he can carry it.

This is Bailey after we brought this winters wood to the house. Her hair is normally longer than this but we buzz it down for the hot summers.

When my Super Cedars were delivered the dogs were outside. By the time I got home they had chewed through the box and eaten about 3 of them. It didn't seem to affect them in the least. They must like the smell because that's the only time they've ever opened a box that was delivered, and the UPS and FedEx guy is here at least twice a week.

My UPS guy gives the hounds a cookie every time...now he has to make sure the door is closed before he pulls in otherwise they climb into the truck.

I'll keep the gravy for the biscuits.
