Stacking has commenced, built the cribbed ends this evening, now to finish splitting around 8 more monster oak rounds and stack them. Still have several loads of red and white oak to haul home yet, too!! Lots to do, busy busy BUSY!!
I love the clean look of proper cribbed ends(firewood cribbed ends!) but more often than not my wife is in charge of the stacking, so attached vertical pallets it shall be!
I don't split my wood that perfect to do cribbed ends. Looks pretty cool. I just use a T-post stuck in the ground.
That's definitely one of the advantages of huge rounds. Getting those nice block splits out of em! :stacke:
Those big oak rounds (at least the ones without knots) produce some beautiful cribbing wood! As I'm splittling, I'll pitch the nice straight blocks into their own pile and use that for cribbing....... I have a pine job coming up, might start that tomorrow evening but I'll make sure this stuff is all split and stacked by the end of the weekend, if I can.
Dang, Scotty - that there is some precision stacking, man! Good air flow spaces, too. I'll give it a "10".
I still have one load of bigguns like those to get as well as a load of medium sized rounds from another job......lmao. I need some space before I can being them home!! Those rounds were around 40-44" diameter. Red oak. Around 600lbs a piece.
Looks like fun to split rounds that big, lots of work but fun work Nice perfect splits, Nice to be a wood snob, eh Great Stacking
Real nice stackin there Scotty , Great chunks of wood to work with . T posts n racks are my cup a tea
Those splits are perfect for cribbing. Can't get any straighter then that. Nice work Scotty Overkill just the air alone will dry those..keep up the hard work..
