Butcher gave me a great idea, and a little goofy, but heck, this is FHC!

What is the name of your stove or what will it be?

I'll start off at naming the jotul castine "ol' blue" because its always spitting blue flames in the dead of winter.

I have a Woodstock IS and it's a big stove compared to my Oslo a couple years ago.
I refer to the IS in the female sense, "her" is what I use in a sentance if I'm talking about
it in anyway. I think my wife thinks I'm nuts, she sees me sniffing splits when I am working
the splitter and she hears me talk to the stove like it's a person.

    I call mine ......."Stove."
Growing up we had a parakeet, "Bird."
He died when I was 4. We got another parakeet, "Bird."
He made it til I was 10.
    We got another parakeet............... "Chicken."
"Stove" keeps us warm. "Stove" eats wood. Happy Stove.

Ours is "turn it up? or turn it down?"

I have been schooled that boats are "she's"

My ancient Blazer though, it has been called both her and him over the last decades......

Well, as you know, my Oslo is named Black Sabbath.
    "Black Sabbath"

What is this that stands before me?
Figure in black which points at me
Turn around quick, and start to run
Find out I'm the chosen one
    Oh no

Big black shape with eyes of fire
    Telling people their desire....

I call my Yukon wood/oil furnace "the beast" or sometimes "the beast in the basement"...or sometimes just simply the "Yook"
We also have a little 1.2 CF Vogelzang Defender EPA stove stuffed in the fierplace too, that one is simply "lil stove"

It's first name is Wood, but I usually refer to it by it's full name. Never been one to name inanimate objects, but think it's cool that some folks do. My dog on the other hand has many names, today he's Ratso Rizzo.

Before I got "educated" and proficient at operating my stove, I had a few overfires that went nuclear and scared the S**t out of me. At that time it was dubbed "The Reactor".
