I have had some people interested in what I thought about my dolmar 6100. I thought I would just share all my thoughts and videos in one spot.

    The pluses
Price can be found for $525 pho I bought mine with 24" bar for roughly $575 (I did a trade in and got a lot of exras)
    Amazing air filtration.
    20151020_231049.jpg
Very easy to clean. The whole top cover comes off with only three spring clips giving you access to the air filter, spark plug, and easy to clean off the whole cylinder and blow off the fly wheel.
The bar drive mount area is also very smooth and very easy to just wipe off all the oil and sawdust.
With an inboard clutch and very smooth open chain area it can noodle very good without clogging up.

It is very smooth in the cut and balances very well. It handles very well and does not feel heavy or bulky.
It starts very easy. The spring assistance pull start does not feel gimmicky or weak. In fact you don't even realize it other than it pulls easily.
It has great power out of the box, a very broad torque curve and very snappy throttle response.
The stratospheric engine gets great fuel milage and does not require a stopped up exhauste to pass epa.
    Build quality is very good.

    Overview

I will get some more videos up and if you have any questions or want to see anything just ask.

Got to use the 6100 for awhile this afternoon. She is starting to break in and wake up. Brought down a very healthy 24" hickory. I am very pleased with the power. Even buried the 6100 pulls the 24" bar without any trouble and this is not a skip tooth chain. It cuts smooth and the power and the way it handles surprisesme every time I try and work this saw.
Definitely leaves a big smile on my face

I want to add. They port up very nicely and even ported are in a 362cm price range. O ya. Price to power is gonna be hard to beat on this saw! :dex:

That is awesome I like the power to price ratio over the power to weight especially when most argue over 0.1 kg
This is one hard saw to beat. Especially if you like to keep some money in your pocket.

I think I just accidentally found out what my Christmas gift might be. I just seen an email of a tsumara 20" light bar being shipped our way. Now either my wife has a secret closet saw affair going on
or she is getting me a really awesome bar for my 6100.
Time will tell but as soon as I mount it I will post pictures. The bar on the saw that is not the wife.

I love my 5100s. Techs out quick and is light weight. Dolmars are great saws. Was looking at 6100s the other day. Too bad another saw isn't in the budget right now.

I looked real hard at a used 5105 at the dealer but it was an early modle without the easy start and my tore up shoulder really appreciates the easy start. Great 50cc saw though.

Does the 6100 have a limited coil?

Yes but it is way up in the rpm in fact I have not hit it yet but my saw is tuned just a shade rich. millermodsaws may have some input on the coil he just ported 2 6100's I don't think he had to mess with the coil and the video he posted they sure are screaming.

That's good to know. I'd keep it stock if I were to get one. I might open the muffler just a little but I hear they flow pretty well already and don't have a kitty. I'm still not an expert carb tuner and would probably tune it by ear then tach it to be sure its around 13.5k

I wonder what rpm the coil is limited to?

An unlimited coil would be nice on these for tuning but that's about it. On the 2-6100s here the limiter was a tad different. But close. One would limit at 13900 and the other was 14100. So I'm guessing it has a 13800 limiter in it. More than you'll hit in the cut. Well unless your cutting twigs. Lol.

These port very nicely. I still have some gains to find but the one I have for sale is the the smaller gain of the 2 and it's still a huge improvement over stock. This saws are nice from the factory but there slow. Well i guess that's my opininon. Lol.

Meh I'll prolly just make lots of inquiries and research them a lot before I decide not to buy one. It's kind of like tire kicking without annoying a potential seller. I'm thinking of patenting the technique so none of you selfish turds try to swoop in and steal it from me.

Happy belated turkey day and God bless each of you.

I did a ton of tire kicking before I finally bought mine. Shooting went to the dealer 4 separate times and rabbit the saw each time. Heck I was half way through break in before I bought it.
millermodsaws the only reason you think they are slow is because you can make them run like a Ferrari. Running like a Corvette is ok for me for now. Lol
